Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically placed into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth or bridge. They are a popular and reliable solution for replacing missing teeth, providing long-term stability and functionality.

Consultation and Assessment

The first step is to visit our clinic for a consultation. We shall evaluate your oral health, take X-rays, and assess whether you're a suitable candidate for dental implants. Factors such as bone density and overall health will be considered.

Surgical Placement

If you're deemed a suitable candidate, the dental implant surgery will be scheduled. During the procedure, a small incision is made in the gum, and a hole is drilled into the jawbone. The implant, usually made of titanium, is then carefully placed into the hole. The gum is sutured closed, and the healing process begins.

Osseointegration

Over the next few months, the implant fuses with the surrounding jawbone through a process called osseointegration. This provides stability and support for the replacement tooth.

Abutment Placement

Once osseointegration is complete, the gum is reopened, and a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant. The abutment serves as a foundation for the artificial tooth or bridge.

Prosthesis Attachment

After the gums have healed around the abutment, Our dental professional takes impressions of your mouth to create a custom-made dental crown or bridge. The prosthesis is then securely attached to the abutment, providing a natural-looking and functional replacement tooth.

Dental implants are known for their durability and ability to mimic the look and feel of natural teeth. They offer several advantages over other tooth replacement options, including improved chewing and speaking abilities, preservation of neighboring teeth, and prevention of bone loss in the jaw.

However, dental implant placement requires a sufficient amount of healthy jawbone for successful integration. In cases where the jawbone is inadequate, bone grafting may be required to build up the bone density before implant surgery.

It's essential to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing, flossing, and visiting the dentist regularly to ensure the longevity and success of your dental implants.
